About Custom Metal Designs

Providing Automation Solutions With a Customer Satisfaction Guarantee

Our History

From Conveyors to Robots

Custom Metal Designs was established in 1972 by Saul Grimes, who, after working in the packaging industry, saw the need for a conveyor system to automate the packaging process. Saul designed and developed his conveyor solution when plastic containers were appearing in the marketplace, so the need was great.

From there, Custom Metal Designs continued to innovate its conveyor designs and add to the automation with supporting equipment such as baggers and debaggers. Today, the business has evolved to become a leading robotic integrator in the packaging industry.
